BLEBLA, el rapero “Made in Toscana”

1. Háblanos un poco de ti.

Mi nombre es Marco Lena y vivo en Prato, donde yo nací hace 29 años. Soy un adicto a la música, me gusta el fútbol (hincha del Inter) y las chicas…! Juego a fútbol con mis amigos y lo hago de portero, y el año pasado ganamos el campeonato provincial.

2. ¿Cómo nació tu pasión por la música? ¿y cómo comenzaste tu carrera como rapero?

Siempre he tenido una gran pasión por la música desde que tenía 6 años. Cuando tenía 10 años hice mi primera grabación casera, después en el año 2000 comencé a trabajar como Dj en fiestas fuera y dentro de la Toscana. Una noche, un vocalista faltó, así que subí al escenario y comencé a cantar… Ese fue el comienzo. En el 2002 grabé algunas canciones de rap, luego en 2007 finalmente canciones de rap. Yo escribo mis propias canciones, respecto a la música, me apoyan 3 productores.

3. ¿De dónde salió la idea de cantar en dialecto y bajo el nombre de “BLEBLA”?   ¿Cuántos discos has sacado?

Amo mi ciudad, Prato y mi dialecto. Pero solo escribí 2 canciones en dialecto: “Prato” y “Ikkettadetto”? “(significa: ¿qué has dicho?, en italiano “cosa hai detto?”). Las demás canciones son en italiano. He escrito entre 70 y 80 canciones y he grabado 3 álbumes.  Pensé que mi canción “Prato” tendría éxito solo a nivel local pero inesperadamente este tuvo un gran éxito también fuera de la ciudad de Prato. Respecto a mi nombre… Una noche estaba bebiendo con mis amigos y estaba un poco borracho entonces intenté decir algo pero olvidé que era y solamente balbuceé desde ese día mis amigos me dieron el sobrenombre de Blebla y decidí quedármelo!

4. ¿Hay algún rapero que te inspira?

Nadie en particular, me gustan casi todos tipos de música – italiana y extranjera. Cuando era más joven Articolo 31, 883 y Elio e le Storie Tese. Tuve el honor de abrir el concierto de J-Ax (vocalista de Articulo 31) y Frankie hi-NRG MC.

Mi último álbum explica muy bien cuál es mi intención: hacer sátira con mi rap. Claro que también escribo canción más “serias” ,  pero creo que lo que la gente necesita es divertirse.

5. ¿Cómo es el mundo discográfico en general?

Es un mundo muy difícil y tienes que estar atento. Muchas personas van más allá de sus  principios e intentan tomar beneficio al máximo posible de la persona para después moverse a otra. Siempre leo atentamente  los contratos para prevenir sorpresas – por ejemplo: crear un contrato por años con un agente! No es fácil tener un gran éxito, necesitas encontrar una buena idea. Un día puedes tener un gran éxito y al siguiente día tener una caída. Puedes ganar con algunas vivencias, conciertos o invitaciones especiales. En el mundo del rap desafortunadamente no hay mucho espacio; pero recientemente algo está cambiando.

6. ¿Cómo es tu relación con tus colegas florentinos? Como es ser un cantante en Prato?

Conozco algunos cantantes florentinos e hice algunas canciones con algunos de ellos. Con otros he colaborado y seguimos en contacto. De todas formas comenzar una carrera de cantante en Prato – o Florencia supongo - no es fácil, es muy estresante. La gente es presumida y tienes que convencerlos; pero por ahora, no puedo quejarme de mis logros.

7. ¿Cómo gestionas la relación con tus fans y las redes sociales?

Diariamente uso Facebook y Twitter, pero tengo algunos colegas que me ayudan a gestionar mis perfiles y mis páginas fans. De todas maneras, yo personalmente respondo a los mensajes privados – quiero tener contacto directo con mis fans. Además de la TV, esos medios de comunicación son los únicos medios para mantenerme en contacto con mis seguidores. Noto personas diferentes en cada concierto, lo cual significa que mi público y mis fans están creciendo. Durante un concierto en Plaza Mercatale de Prato y otro de año nuevo en Plaza del Duomo asistieron entre 8-9.000 personas. Estoy realmente satisfecho, estar en el escenario es siempre excitante, incluso cuando lo haces usualmente.

8. ¿Cuáles son tus objetivos para el futuro?

Mi nuevo single será lanzado pronto, la presentación del nuevo álbum será el año que viene. Actualmente hago el video de la canción y preparo el nuevo CD. Tengo 3 fechas planeadas: una el sábado pasado, 28 de Septiembre en J’Adore en Prato y otras 2 en octubre, en Siena y provincia. Obviamente mis expectativas para el futuro es tener un gran éxito. Siendo toscano es igualmente una ventaja y una desventaja: por un lado porque tu te ves realmente gracioso pero por otro lado cuando tú hablas, tú dialecto te hace automáticamente parecer una persona no sería, incluso cuando tú estás diciendo cosas serias. De todas formas, yo voy paso a paso, siempre manteniendo mi mente en mis objetivos.

1. Could you tell us something about yourself?

My name is Marco Lena and I live in Prato, where I was born 29 years ago. In addition to music, I like football (I'm an Inter fan) and girls…! I play football with friends as a goalkeeper and last year we won the provincial championship.

2. How your passion for music was born? And how did you start your career as a rapper?

I have always had a great passion for music, since I was 6. When I was 10 I started making the first recordings at home, then in 2000 I started working as a DJ at parties inside and outside Tuscany. One night the vocalist was missing, so I went up on the stage and I started singing... This was the beginning. In 2002 I recorded some rap-dance music, then in 2007 I finally started recording real rap music. I write the songs myself, for the music I’m supported by 3 producers.

3. How did you get the idea of singing in dialect and of the name “Blebla”? And how many albums have you recorded?

I love my city, Prato, and my dialect. But I only wrote 2 songs in dialect, “Prato” and “Ikkettadetto?” (which means: “what did you say?”, in Italian “cosa hai detto?”). The other songs are in Italian - I wrote almost 70-80 songs and recorded 3 albums. I thought that my song “Prato” would have succeeded only among locals but unexpectedly it had a great success also outside the city of Prato.

As for my name... One night I was drinking with my friends and I was a little tipsy. I tried to say something but I forgot what it was and I just mumbled something. From that day on my friends gave me the nickname Blebla, and I decided to keep it!

4. Is there someone who inspires you?

Nobody in particular, I like almost all kinds of music – both Italian and foreign music. When I was younger I loved Articolo 31, 883 and Elio e le Storie Tese. I had the honour of opening a concert of J-Ax (vocalist of Articolo 31) and Frankie hi-NRG MC.

My last album is called “Satirap” and it explains quite good which my intention is: making satire with rap. Of course I also write more “serious” songs, but I think that what people need is having fun!

5. How is the music business in general?

It is a very difficult world and you have to pay attention. Most people further their own cause and tend to take advantage as much as possible of a person and then move on. I always read very carefully all the contracts to avoid bad surprises – for example, being bound to a bad agent for years! It’s not easy to hit the big time, you need to find the good idea. One day you can have a great success and the days after a great flop. You can earn something with lives, concerts or as a special guest. In the rap music world unfortunately there is not too much space;  but recently something is changing, thanks to the web.

6. Do you have contacts with your Florentine colleagues? How is being a singer in Prato?

I know some Florentine singers and I made some songs with some of them. With some others I collaborated and we are still keeping in touch. Anyway, starting a career as a singer in Prato – or Florence, I suppose – it’s not easy and quite stressful. People are snooty and you need to convince them; but for now, I cannot complain about my achievements.

7. How do you manage the contacts with your fans and the social media?

I daily use Facebook and Twitter, but I have some guys who help me managing my profiles and fan pages. Anyway, I personally reply to private messages – I want to have a direct contact with fans. Beside the TV, these media are the only way to keep in contact with my supporters.

I notice different people at every concert, this means that the audience is increasing. During a concert in Piazza Mercatale in Prato and another for New Year’s eve in Piazza del Duomo there were nearly 8-9,000 people, I’m really satisfied. Being on stage is always exciting, even when you get used to it.

8. What are you doing now and which are your plans for the future?

My next single will be released soon, the prelude of the new album due out next year. So I’m currently shooting the video for the single and preparing the new CD. I have 3 dates planned for the near future: one this Saturday, 28 September at J’Adore in Prato and other 2 in October, in Siena and province. Obviously my expectation for the future is to hit the big time. Being Tuscan is both an advantage and a disadvantage: on one hand you look really funny but on the other hand, when you speak, your dialect makes you automatically unserious even if you are saying serious things.

Anyway, I go on step by step always keeping in mind which my target is.

Susanna Rigacci es una famosa y apreciada soprano, conocida tanto en Italia como en el extranjero. Nació en Estocolmo, Suiza y terminó su carrera musical en el conservatotio Luigi Cherubini de Florencia. Posteriormente completó su especialización con Iris Adami Corradetti, bajo esta dirección Maria fue reconocida Internacionalmente como “María Callas” Competición (concurso RAI 1983) y Sängerförderungspreis” en Mozateum, Salzburg 1985.

Susanna ha actuado en los teatros más famosos y prestigiosos de Italia: La Escalera en Milán, Mayo Musical Florentino en Florencia, La Ceniza en Venecia, El Arena en Verona – este último durante el concierto de Ennio Morricone, el 11 de septiembre de 2004 y otra vez este año en el mes de agosto.

También ha cantado en el extranjero en Carnegie Hall, Nueva York, Ópera Comique y Teatro Châtelet en París, Praga Filarmónica, Hall de la Reina Isabel, Ópera de Wallonie en Liège, La Academia de Sibelius en Helsinki, Fundación Gulbenkian en Lisboa, el Festival Wexford, el Teatro municipal de Mallorca y Staatsteater en Berna.

En 2011 participó en el Festival de Sanremo como acompañante de voz en el Yo confieso de La Cruz. Desde 2001 es la cocalista de Ennio Morricone (Oscar 2007).

Susanna Rigacci ha trabajado en el ISTITUTO EUROPEO como Profesora de Tecnica Vocal durante los últimos años y ha dado clases a un gran número de estudiantes extranjeros. Canta en 6 lenguas y muchos estudiantes la piden como su profesor de técnica vocal.

Después del gran éxito obtenido durante el verano en el Festival de Omega 2013 en Florencia, con óperas como “La Traviata” y “Madama la mariposa”, el pasado 3 de septiembre de 2013 Omega ha dedicado a Susanna una noche en unos de los lugares más importantes de Florencia, La Limonaia de Villa Strozzi. En el piano estaba su hermanos, Pietro Rigacci, las piezas de música que tocaban eran de Haendel, Vivaldi, Rossini, Donizetti, Puccini y otros. Un grupo de estudiantes del ISTITUTO EUROPEO participó en el concierto, y resultó tener un gran éxito.

Susanna Rigacci is a famous and appreciated soprano, well-known both in Italy and abroad. She was born in Stockholm, Sweden and finished her musical training at the Luigi Cherubini conservatory in Florence and successively completed her specialization with Iris Adami Corradetti, under whose direction she was recognized and awarded at the International "Maria Callas" Competition (Concorso RAI 1983) and "Sängerförderungspreis" at the Mozarteum in Salzburg 1985.
Susanna has performed in Italy's most prestigious theaters: some are la Scala in Milan, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, La Fenice in Venice, the Arena in Verona – this last one during Ennio Morricone’s concert on September, 11th 2004 and again this year in the month of August.

She has also sung abroad at Carnegie Hall in New York, Opéra Comique and Théatre Châtelet in Paris, Prague Philharmonic, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Opéra de Wallonie in Liège, Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Fundaçao Gulbenkian in Lisbon, Wexford Festival, Teatro Municipale in Mallorca and Staatsteater in Bern.

In 2011 she took part at the Festival di Sanremo as accompanying voice in the song Io confesso by La Crus. Since 2001 she is the vocalist of Ennio Morricone (Oscar 2007).

Susanna Rigacci works at ISTITUTO EUROPEO as Professor of Vocal Technique and during the last years she has taught to a great number of foreign students. She sings in 6 languages and many students ask for her as their teacher of vocal technique.

Following the great success obtained during the summer at OMEGA FESTIVAL 2013 in Florence, with operas such as “La Traviata” and “Madama Butterfly”, last September 3rd 2013 OMEGA dedicated to Susanna an evening at one of the most important halls in Florence, the Limonaia di Villa Strozzi. At the piano there was her brother, M.° Pietro Rigacci; the pieces of music played were by Haendel, Vivaldi, Rossini, Donizetti, Puccini and others. A group of ISTITUTO EUROPEO’s students participated at the concert, which was a big success.
